MCC students win first place at culinary competition
On November 9,
2006, at the Connecticut Culinary Institute’s new culinary
arts and learning center, in Hartford, Everybosy Wins! CT, a
not-for-profit organization that provides reading enrichment programs
for young children, held its primary fundraising event for the year.
The event included a live cooking competition among three American
Culinary Federation accredited schools, judged by professional chefs.
Once again, MCC students show how well the college preparest them for
professional life. The school's team placed first in the competition,
that followed the way chef's compete in the popular TV show "Iron
Chef."
The MCC winning team included Lavoie, Brendan Chapman of Manchester,
Fred Huhn of Hebron, Theresa Oichanowski of New Britain, and Justin
Reich of Newington.
Graduates of MCC's culinary arts certificate program are regularly
employed by top local restaurants, and can apply to the American
Culinary Federation for its nationally recognized certification.
