Cabela's tops business headlines for 2006 for Greater Hartford area

identified plans by recreational supplies retailer Cabela's to build a
new 200,000-square-foot store at Rentschler Field in East Hartford as
the top business story in the Hartford region in yesterday's HBJ Tojay
poll. More than 21 percent of the 137 respondents said Cabela's
deserves top billing. About 19 percent of respondents said the
weakening housing market combined with increasing energy costs was the
top story. Other top voter- getters included plans by ING to build a
new campus in Windsor and the opening of Hartford 21 in downtown
Hartford.
