Cabela's tops business headlines for 2006  for Greater Hartford area

Readers identified plans by recreational supplies retailer Cabela's to build a new 200,000-square-foot store at Rentschler Field in East Hartford as the top business story in the Hartford region in yesterday's HBJ Tojay poll. More than 21 percent of the 137 respondents said Cabela's deserves top billing. About 19 percent of respondents said the weakening housing market combined with increasing energy costs was the top story. Other top voter- getters included plans by ING to build a new campus in Windsor and the opening of Hartford 21 in downtown Hartford.
