 American Eagle Federal Credit Union Donates 22 Computers to Hartford Families Through "Computers for Communities."

EAST HARTFORD, CT (December 15, 2006) ­- American Eagle Federal Credit Union has donated 22 Micron computers, 65 monitors, and other technology accessories to the non-profit organization Computers for Communities (CFC) based in Burlington, CT.

The donated equipment is part of the scheduled replacement of computer workstations at the Credit Union’s 16 branches over the next four months. “With the help of CFC and their efforts, we know these systems will be put to productive use in the community,” said Jim Evans, Vice President of Information Technology at American Eagle.

The Credit Union has worked closely with 14-year old Jacob Komar, founder and Director of CFC and a student at the University High School in Hartford to coordinate this donation. “Thanks to the generosity of American Eagle Federal Credit Union, these computers will be refurbished, loaded with operating systems, basic software, and made available to needy families in Hartford who otherwise could not afford a computer,” said Komar.


Computers for Communities (CFC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that accepts old computers, printers, and other peripherals from individuals, schools, and businesses.
