Chamber Programs
Awards
Every
year the
Chamber selects and awards companies Excellence in Economic
Development and Volunteer of the Year awards to recognize the
outstanding accomplishments these individuals make to the community.
Legislative Support and Advocacy
The Chamber acts as the voice of
its members by communicating information on current legislation,
soliciting members'views, expressing those views and concerns to
legislators, and providing opportunities for members to meet with
legislators.
Networking Opportunities
Members can make valuable
business contacts at Chamber sponsored functions such as Business After
Hours events and regional events such as the MetroHartford Alliance and
East of the River Chamber meetings.
New Member Recognition
The Chamber constantly strives to
recognize new members by offering them the opportunity to do a free
mailing spotlighting their company as well as providing formal
introductions at Business After Hours events.
Programs and Events
The Chamber coordinates many
events and functions on an annual basis, including the Annual Meeting
& Dinner, a trade show, golf tournament, and the Candidates'
Forum. Members are given the chance to serve on committees to help
coordinate these events, serve as sponsors or volunteer time at the
event.
SCORE
The Chamber is the local site for the Service Corps of Retired
Executives (SCORE), an organization that offers no-fee counseling to
small business owners. SCORE is partially funded by the U.S. Small
Business Administration (SBA).
Workshops and Seminars
The Chamber offers forums where members can learn, exchange ideas and
information and gather business experience. Members receive information
on upcoming programs through the newsletter and mailings.
